AJ Paug started teaching dance and taking classes at the age of 16 at Great Gig Dance Co. as a boy’s hip-hop instructor. Within five years, AJ was able to grow and maintain the program to three company and three recreational classes, including an all-boys hip-hop and adult hip-hop class. AJ attended Kennesaw State University as a dance major where he learned valuable pedagogy skills and was granted performance opportunities including ACDFA. AJ is now sought after by Kennesaw State University to teach contemporary and hip-hop master classes to their company dancers as well as at their annual KSU Dance Festival. AJ currently teaches and choreographs at multiple studios, high schools, and after-school programs across Georgia. This is AJ’s 7th year with the RDA where he has helped establish the award-winning KINGSMEN dance crew and multiple Kid-Hop after-school dance programs. AJ is also Co-Artistic Director of Gotta Dance Contemporary, a professional dance company that provides performance and teaching opportunities to professional dancers in Atlanta. He has been with the company for over five years and was granted the position after two years with GDC. AJ’s most recent accomplishment debuts his choreography on the Netflix series, Haunting of Hill House. AJ hopes to continually expand his career by obtaining new skills that will merit future teaching opportunities.
